Creative Expression Bootcamp (5 days)

Unleash the inner storyteller and artist in this immersive 5-day journey. From learning all about visual storytelling through caricatures & comic strips to making their very own Zine telling personal adventures & perspectives, this is the perfect camp for young adults who enjoy crafting their own stories in a fun and interactive way!  

After this bootcamp our junior artists will go home with:         

• Techniques and tips to caricature anything        
• Visual storytelling skills and communication skills         
• A completed Zine with their personal story as well as a copy of the Zines of all the participants :)        
• Certificate of Completion

Indicative Schedule of the Bootcamp*

1. Day 1 - Introduction to caricatures & comics + designing our own characters & writing building blocks of our storyline 
2. Day 2 - Creating & illustrating our comic strip 
3. Day 3 - Introduction to Zine making + Creating our Zine layout and storyline buiilding blocks
4. Day 4 & 5 -  Crafting our very own Zines using illustrations, story telling, magazine cutouts exchanging inspiration and funny anecdotes with other participants :)

About Zine Making 

A zine is a small-circulation self-published booklets filled with original or appropriated artwork, stories, and ideas. Zines are known for their DIY ethos, allowing creators to express themselves freely outside of mainstream media channels. Zine making involves several contemporary skillsets like creative journaling, visual story-telling, illustrations etc. We chose to introduce kids to this art-form as it has a high range of possibilities, with every kid picking a unique perspective to highlight in their Zine and the results are attractive for everyone to cherish as a keepsake for years.
