About Fauvism and Dadaism

Fauvism and Dadaism art movements are two of the lesser known "isms", but may be amongst the most fun periods in art evolution. Both these movements challenged the limitations of academic art, and artists from these periods promoted spontaneity, humour, the use of bold lines & colours and overall playfulness in their approach. Henri Matisse, Andre Derian, Salvador Dali are amongst the popular artists from this period and their work needs no introduction. We chose these approaches to introduce to kids as they promote individuality and artistic freedom and are a great medium to understand colours better!
