About the event
Madhubani painting, also known as Mithila art, originates from the Mithila region of Bihar and is celebrated for its intricate patterns, bold colors, and symbolic motifs like fish, peacocks, lotus, and sun—each carrying deep cultural meaning. Traditionally painted on mud walls and handmade paper, this folk art reflects themes from nature, mythology, and everyday village life.
In this workshop, you’ll explore the fundamentals of Madhubani art, from its characteristic double lines and fine detailing to the vibrant use of color. Guided by our mentor, you’ll create your own artwork on a circular board, bringing together storytelling and design in a hands-on, meditative experience.
